the tropical rainforest. At least 300 fruits are found in the rainforests and of these only 200 are still in use
Currently, 121 perscription drugs are sold worldwide that have come
from the rainforests. The National Cancer Institute has identified 3000 plants that are active against cancer cells. 70 percent
of these plants are found in the rainforest and 25 percent of the active ingredients in the cancer-fighting drugs come
from organisms found in the rainforest. Without the animals and plants, diseases could be even more fatal.
The wealth of the rainforest is so great that it is our job to do
the best we can to preserve it!
